Ok so I thought (almost a week later) that it was about time I posted my photos from Comic Con.
It was literally the best weekend ever. I think we were all wishing it would never end. We didn't want to come back home, those hotel beds were white and fluffy and exactly how you'd imagine heaven.
got some supernatural goodies (though surprisingly had a hard time finding any) and a really awesome t-shirt from BlackCraft, and briefly fangirled with a fellow FemCas cosplayer. overall i think my fave CC yet. Also helped that I didn't cosplay the entire time cause I got to look around a lot more. :)
Arrival at the hotel and getting into cosplays :)
Our room was on the 4th floor out of I think like 20something.
Me as Fem(kinda)Castiel on the first day.
Back at the hotel at night. :)
Anda doing last minute modifications to her Crash Down Cafe (Roswell) cosplay.
Oh, also, Anda and I did some roaming around our hotel late at night and got really lost and saw cool things like the pool room, the gym, and the "underground city"?!?!? and umm..... ran into Vic Mignogna in the lobby. LOL. He was standing in the way of the escalator and as we walked by him I was like "Hi, Vic!" and he's like "Hey! Oh, you got me coffee?!" (cause we were bringing it back to our room) totally awesome. Apparently a bunch of the guests were staying in our hotel so we actually saw a few. Shared an elevator with Michael Berryman also. lol.
breaky next morning bright and early!
Took FOR-EVER to do my Mystique hair/makeup. Because I had planned on spraying my hair red with temporary color hairspray. Anyway, tried that, ended up failing MISERABLY. So I had to wash it all out and start all over again to style my insanely frizzy mane. so that took a really long time, and then had to do my makeup which took MORE time and ah it was just crazy. But so worth it.
For those who are interested, my makeup process:
It took a LOT of trial and error and test runs in order to finally come up with the combo I ended up going with.
I used liquid latex for the scales and applied it with a brush. This worked really well.
For the blue, I started using regular blue face paint. It was too cakey/dry and bold. Definitely not what I was going for. I then tried Sephora’s makeup forever blue and even that was too dry and again not the color I was going for.
So I decided finally to use Mac’s white face&body foundation and mixed it with their “naval blue” pigment. It took a lot of layers upon layers to get it as bold as you see in the pics. My sister was helping me. In between layers we sprayed it with a makeup-fix (totally forget what brand/what it was called).
Anyway I was only in costume for about 3-4 hours primarily because my contacts were defected and the left eye in particular would not “settle” on my eye so it was literally torturous. Would go up every time I blinked and my sight just kept getting worse and worse, my eyes started to water, etc. By the end of the day (even after I took them out) my eyes felt as though someone had pretty much gauged them out. Horrible.
But hey, at least I got some awesome photos and tons of compliments and a few interviews out of it, haha! Was totally worth it. :D
Playing Midnight Party (the Valet, upon taking our bags out of the trunk, saw the game and made a playful face - "ooooo, Midnight Party!")
And last morning in our hotel... time to leave :(
Coffee stop/breakfast before heading to the Con for the final day.
